Blackburn does it again!!!
After what looked like it could have turned in
to a rain out, the sun popped out and a double rainbow appeared just in time, and Jeff Blackburn found the Pot of Gold.
The skies were heavy and overcast when the pits opened for the race teams, and just before the racing began the clouds opened
up and the rain began to fall. Thanks to the crew of Peterborough Speedway with their satellite tracking, we knew it
wouldn't last long, and within an hour the races were back underway on a dry track.
It was a Bakers Dozen that
showed up for the Hurricanes in Peterborough Saturday night, and it was that magic number that worked
for Jeff Blackburn, Car #7 as he took the Checkered Flag for the Feature when he jumped in to 1st position in the 13th lap
of a 15 lap feature, after working his way up the field from the 4th starting line. The battle for that sweet
spot began early as Adam Tyo, Car #27 who started at the Pole, took the first 4 laps in first position to the cheers of
of the crowd. Then it was AJ Emms, Car #10's turn, and he battled clean and hard to maintain the
lead for the next 9 laps. There were no guaranties in this race folks, and when 7 & 10 came across that finish line
it was within a fraction of a second that the win was decided, coming in 3 wide from the 4th turn with Car #48 of Brian Woodland
sneaking up and taking the 3rd. This was good clean Hurricane Racing at its best ! - Jackie

WELCOME
TO OUR NEW ROOKIES !!!
Let us introduce to you our newest members, Brent Stieler of
Bracebridge ON, Car # 98 and Adam Carrothers of Sutton ON, Car # 45
Also, we welcome back
for his second run with the Hurricanes, Richard Woodland, Car # 84 of Orangeville ON
All of these new drivers
for the hurricanes bring years of experience on the track and all performed well for the evening after getting in to their
cars for the first time this season. Car #45 took 8th and #98 took 9th, finishing the race after a clean battle with
the rest of the team. Richard Woodland was a DNF for the feature ofter his coil quit, but that didn't upset this
veteran driver, as he had a Heat win already tucked in to his back pocket for the night.
